“From State to State; To Star From Star”

[Verse 1]
We need room to tear this space apart
Stark and vast we’d leave these lives apart
Or intertwine like a collision of orbits
Follow lights, til the black hole absorbs it.

Expand on why you can’t be anybody
The edge of science says you’re due for exploding
Are you gonna burn out, or fade like a comet?
Past the windows, where I can record it.

Oh, look the planets are aligning.

[Chorus]
And every night
Through the looking glass I see you shine
From a broken boy to a moonlit sky
Look upon the stars and wonder why
This love is an exact science
An experimental phenomenon
That keeps us in this daze.

[Verse 2]
Don’t believe in stories from ones who sold
The heavens, I guess they can’t divulge
All the secrets that keep you in circles
Spinning round, the star you’re deserving of

I could say stars compared to the light you gave
I could say these things, if it could make you say
You’ll start the constellation that breaks the day
I’ll outline your spot in a celestial gray.

Oh, look the shooting star passes again.

[Chorus]
And every night
Through the looking glass I see you shine
From a broken boy to a moonlit sky
Look upon the stars and wonder why
Is love a science?
Or are we fools who wait for days and days
For a phenomenon that leaves us in a daze.

[Bridge]
So, can we drift?
Drift away into this space?
Can our stars dream?
Can our hearts be?
Can they as one shine and beat?

[Chorus]
And every night
Through the looking glass I see you shine
From a broken boy to a moonlit sky
Look upon the stars and wonder why
Is love a science?
Or are we fools who wait for days and days
For a phenomenon that leaves us in a daze.
