“From Asheville, to Sarasota Pt II.”

I couldn’t fight your future,
You couldn’t hold my past
Fate stepped on toes,
I watched them swell
Until you said at last.

“Nothings real, no,
Nothing at all, we don’t exist.
We can climb together, until your grip on me just slips.”

I never understood the words, I swore I’d never let go.
“If it was up to me, I’d hold your hand until it broke.
I’ll continue on with one, pulling you up by my side.
So don’t you worry darling, I’ll never ever let you slide.”

And then she let go.
